F.D.A. issues new warning on synthetic weed product: Not only dangerous for users, but for nation’s blood supply. Reported by Amanda Garrett. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration this week warned people against using synthetic marijuana products because they’re often laced with long-acting rat poison that’s not only dangerous for users, but also could threaten the safety of the nation’s blood supply. Packs of the drug are often sold at neighborhood convenience stores under names like Spice and K2 and contain bro-duh-fah-cohm, a long-acting anti-coagulant that prevents blood from clotting, the FDA said.

Noah Smith: What has the tax cut achieved? Not much for workers

NEW YORK: A few months ago, I cautioned that Americans should be patient before deciding what effect President Donald Trump’s tax cuts have had on the economy. It takes a while for companies to make investment decisions, more time for those decisions to be implemented and even more time for the resulting changes in labor demand to bid up workers’ wages. It therefore takes months or even years before the full impact of the tax bill will be known.
