Grads return to Greece Odyssey Friday for cap and gown pickup

Greece, N.Y. - Friday was a big day for Greece Odyssey graduates.

The senior class was welcomed back to campus to pick up their caps and gowns.

Police and fire crews held a parade around the parking lot while faculty and staff held up signs to congratulate the Class of 2020 on its achievements.

"It's a wonderful feeling to know that everything's over and finished," said Jordan Greggs of the Class of 2020.

She said having her school year shaken up by the COVID-19 pandemic brought about some unexpected challenges, but she and her classmates persevered.

"At the beginning, it was a bit tense, but after a while, you just adapt to it," she said.

Students received an Odyssey pin and a wood-burned plaque, in addition to their caps and gowns.
