ANCHORAGE, AK -- Darlene Argento is visiting her daughter and son-in-law in Alaska. She was in the garage of their home when Friday's large earthquake struck.

"Everything was just falling everywhere, everything was falling from the cabinets and breaking. The bird cage went across the room,” said Argento.

At first, Argento thought someone was running across the floor above her, but it quickly got worse.

"It just violently started shaking, and then I came in through the garage door and did the biggest, 'No, no.' I tried to go up the stairs, but I was falling down the stairs,” she said.

Argento's daughter was able to reach her and they sat on the floor until the earthquake stopped. Thankfully, no one in their home was hurt.

Argento admits she was emotionally shaken by the experience.

"Honestly, it's the scariest thing I've ever been through. It was really, really bad,” she said.
