One killed, one injured during robbery inside Jefferson County home

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. — A Jefferson County man is dead and a woman is in the hospital after a robbery in the Grayson Valley area.

Michael James Moore, 35, lived at the house on the 5400 block of Nottinghill Drive. He was found inside the house with a gunshot wound and pronounced dead on the scene by the Jefferson County Coroner just after midnight Friday morning.

A woman was taken to the hospital from that crime scene for treatment of a possible gunshot wound.

Authorities say two suspects left the home in a white four-door sedan. Deputies have apprehended one suspect at this time and say they have identified the other suspect.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
