A Hale County man said a towing job went terribly wrong when the service destroyed his mobile home right before his eyes.

ABC 33/40 first reported on the wreckage blocking Windham Road near Moundville Tuesday. That was four days before county crews tried clearing it.

Owner Kevin James said he and his family have to find a new place to live.

"He told me if I kept calm and helped him get the trailer up the hill and out of the road, he said he would give me a double wide, if I paid him to move it," James said.

He contracted Robert Wynn's company Go-Gitter Mobile Home Services because they were licensed and insured.

"If you wrecked my trailer, I would not pay you again to bring something else to me," James said.

Wynn claimed the trailer was broken.

"If I had known it was broken, I never would've agreed to move it. Period," Wynn said.

James said he told him it was reinforced before originally being moved down the hill, but never broken.

He thinks the company should be held responsible for damage done to the community and hardship on his family.
