Classes will be back in session this fall at Ohio State University, but things won't look the same. The university says it will implement what they're calling a “phased return." That means there will be a limited number of people on campus, including students and staff, to make sure everyone is safe during the pandemic.

School leaders are pushing for more online learning, but add there will be some in-person classes.

“I was excited, especially for grad school. Being a first-year student and getting to know my classmates online so far has been a little difficult,” said Meg Slater, an OSU graduate student studying physical therapy. "Also, I feel I learn better in person, personally, so I think that will be more helpful when the fall comes around.”

Holding classes in large lecture halls may be challenging, but the university is working on a plan right now to keep social distancing guidelines in place.

What about football inside Ohio Stadium? The university is working on that too.

"So excited about that possibility,” said newly-appointed President Dr. Kristina Johnson. “We know that Dr. Drake’s task force is working to bring back those activities when it can be safe."
