A nationwide protest encouraging protesters to "storm" police facilities is forcing the Charleston Police Department to board up their glass doors with plywood.

Officials called it a "precautionary measure," adding that they have no received a specific threat to the police department or any other facility in Charleston.

On Thursday, the glass doors at 180 Lockwood Boulevard are temporarily protected by plywood.

They said the police department is still fully operational and all services are still available.
