A good many players in New York for the US Open will give us ambassador-like photos of their posh hotel accommodations and other amenities they enjoy between Manhattan and Queens. They will overdo it in shilling for free nights of luxurious rest. It will all get to be a bit gauche, perhaps before the first main-draw ball is struck.

But Amelie Mauresmo will not be one of them.

In an homage to the New York Fire Department (aka NYFD), Mauresmo posted a relatively hyper-creative image on her Instagram in recent days.

She wasn't done with that, though. From there, she migrated to a music-laden service at a black church in Harlem. "Believer or not what a positive energy from this Gospel ceremony!" she said in posting the video.

Mauresmo, who turned a radiant 40 years old a month and a half ago, will be at the US Open in support of Lucas Pouille, who she coaches. Her No. 25–seeded charge opens his singles campaign in Flushing against former top-32 player Philipp Kohlschreiber.
