Albany Police investigate shooting that sent 13-year-old to the hospital

ALBANY (WRGB) Police are investigating a shooting on North Swan Street Saturday evening.

Officers responded to the area of North Swan and Third Streetes shortly after 8 p.m., for a report of shots fired. Arriving officers found a 13-year-old female victim with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The victim was treated at the scene and transported to Albany Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said it is unknown whether this incident is connected to a shooting Friday night at about 9:30 p.m., in the area of Second Street and North Swan Street. In that instance, a 21-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound to the leg.
