ALBANY, N.Y. (WRGB) – The setup crews at the Times Union Center worked around the clock Monday into Tuesday. They had to transform the space from the Jonas Brothers Concert setup, to a tennis court for the first event of the Aurora Games.

Directors said the Jonas Brothers equipment and crew left around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, and the tennis flooring arrived around 3:00 a.m. Crews needed to have the court finished by a 10:30 a.m. practice on Tuesday.

To create the tennis court, they brought in two layers of flooring and an extra layer of insulation underneath.

“With the weather outside, it's been humid, so it brings a little bit of moisture so we have to deal with that so we're adding a little bit of vapor barrier underneath to make sure none of that affects the playing surface for the athletes,” Nathan Sims, the Director of Operations said.

The Aurora Games features six different sports, meaning crews will be changing this arena each night throughout the week.

Directors with the Times Union Center say quick changes like this are common, and they're well practiced.

“We’re used to changing over from one event to another, I think we had 21 events in March within a one month period,” Bob Belber, the General Manager with the Times Union Center said.

The directors say with the hours and hours of work, comes the reward of putting on a good show for the public.
