Driver flees after crashing into railroad signal in East Austin

AUSTIN, Texas — Austin Police say a driver fled the scene after crashing into a railroad signal overnight in East Austin

It happened around 1:30 a.m. at 713 Pedernales, near E. 7th Street.

APD and Austin Fire units located a single car that had crashed into a railroad signal arm.

Police say no victims were found and that the driver and possibly another passenger fled the scene before emergency crews arrived.

APD searched for the suspect for about 30 minutes, but no one was found.
