Pedestrian killed after being struck by car in southeast Austin

A pedestrian was hit and killed by a car late Thursday night in southeast Austin.

It happened just before midnight at 7400 E. Riverside Dr., near SH 71.

Austin-Travis County EMS said they performed CPR, then transported the victim, a male in his 40’s, to St David's South Austin Hospital where he later died.

Police said the driver involved in this crash stayed at the scene and is not expected to face any charges at this hour.
