A suspect has been identified in the connection to the teen who was killed in an East Austin shooting on Sunday night.

According to court documents, Elijah Malone, 21, has been identified as the shooter in the murder case of Emmet Infante-Ramos, 17, who died from a gunshot wound to the torso.

According to police, Infante-Ramos drove to meet Malone at the intersection of Lyons Road and Fiesta Street. The suspect and victim were going to meet at the location for a drug deal involving "carts", THC vaping cartridges.

The men communicated through text through the day and before the exchange. Police were able to identify Malone as the suspect after matching a phone number found on Infante-Ramos' phone to a previous criminal case, the arrest affidavit said.

Malone currently faces a charge of first-degree felony murder. His bond is set at $500,000.
