WilCo, DPS arrest Medina County murder suspect after vehicle chase

The Williamson County Sheriff's Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety have arrested a man wanted for murder in Medina County.

WilCo says Nathan Nicholas Gruensteiner was taken into custody early Monday morning following a vehicle pursuit.

The suspect vehicle crashed into an open field in Bartlett after deputies attempted a traffic stop on SH 95 at SH 29, according to WilCo.

According to the Medina County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a call of shots fired around 5 p.m. Sunday in Devine, Texas.

There they found two gunshot victims. 20-year-old Noah Hoover was taken to the hospital, where he later died. A 34-year-old was shot and is expected to make a full recovery.

Deputies were able to locate his black Acura traveling North between Bastrop and Austin. Williamson County Deputies and Texas Highway Patrol attempted to stop the suspect vehicle.

The vehicle attempted to flee, eventually wrecking, causing damage to a Troopers’ vehicle.

Nathan Gruensteiner and his 16-year-old girlfriend were taken into custody.

Gruensteiner was booked in the Williamson County Jail.
