Dog lovers were at the Weston Middle School field on Saturday to raise money for a noble cause.
The Kiwanis Club of Weston Foundation is hosting a Dog Jamboree to raise money for the Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation, an organization that helps serve visually impaired Americans.
There will be competitions for kids and their dogs to win prizes, as well as demonstrations and seminars on caring for your pet. There is also an adoption unit where people attending can adopt their own four-legged friend.
For those involved in the event, it's about understanding the bigger picture.
"For us, it's about raising money and raising awareness," says Douglas Fuchs, COO of Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation. "But you'll see, there's many other organizations out here and we're all doing the same thing -- what's best for the dog. Which is really most important."
