UPDATE: As of 9:21 p.m. Sunday, Nashville has received and added 2.53" of rain, bumping 2019 to the 3rd-wettest year on record, according to the NWS Nashville.

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--2019 has now officially become the 4th-wettest year on record for Nashville.

As of 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, Nashville measured 1.95" of rain, which equaled 63.69" of total rainfall for 2019, according to the National Weather Service. Only 1979 (70.12"), 1880 (67.32") and 1950 (64.26") saw more rainfall.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in September reported Tennessee as a whole had experienced its second-wettest on record for the first eight months of the year. The state also saw above-average temperatures in the first 8 months of 2019, ranking as the 14th-warmest for the time period per NOAA.
