A father turned his son in for the murder for a Nashville semi driver, an affidavit said.

James Huddleston, 27, is charged in the death of 30-year-old Dajuantae Stuart, of Hermitage. Huddleston is charged with first-degree murder, aggravated robbery and attempted theft of property worth more than $60,000.

Stuart was found dead in the cab of the tractor trailer early Wednesday morning on I-269 just west of Memphis. Authorities said surveillance video from inside the cab shows Stuart in the bunk area and Huddleston in front of him. The two were talking when suddenly a gunshot is heard. An affidavit said Huddleston dragged Stuart to the floor and shot him a second time.

Huddleston apparently tried to steal the semi truck, but was unsuccessful and fled. He grabbed his backpack but left the gun behind. Authorities used the serial numbers on the gun to help identify the suspect. Court records say Huddleston was then turned in by his father.

He's being held in Shelby County Jail without bond.
