Five people were shot in four unrelated shooting incidents across Nashville overnight Thursday and Friday.

None of the shootings were life threatening, but it was a busy night for Metro Nashville police as they responded to four separate shootings beginning late Thursday and going into Friday morning.

In the first incident, Metro Police said they responded to a shooting at the Smoke For Less tobacco shop on Gallatin Pike in Madison just after 11 p.m. At the scene, police found a subject lying on the floor with multiple gunshot wounds and a handgun nearby. He was transported to Skyline Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Just after police responded, the shooter contacted police and told police he shot the other man in self-defense. The shooter and man shot both have children with the same woman. Police said that based on witness accounts and the surveillance footage, the shooter will not be charged.

Just about 40 minutes later, officers responded to report of shots fired near Canvas Lounge on Church Street. Police said two people were shot and nearby buildings and vehicles were riddled with bullets after several suspects approached a maroon car and opened fire at the occupants. The driver fled and then stopped before exiting the car with a rifle and opened fire along Church Street.

The busy night continued less than 15 minutes later when a man walked into Nashville General Hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He told police he was with his wife in the parking lot of the Kroger on Monroe Street near Germantown when a dark-colored vehicle pulled up next to them and shot into their vehicle. Police were unable to find evidence at the Kroger.

In the latest of the overnight shootings, Metro Police said a man walked into Vanderbilt University Medical Center with a gunshot wound. He told police he was walking near a Rite-Aid in Nashville when a male in a white Jeep shot him for unknown reasons.

Police are still investigating all of the shootings. We will update as more information becomes available.
