NASHVILLE, Tenn.--Nashville Mayor John Cooper has announced the creation of a task force to review current practices related to ethics and government transparency.
The Public Integrity Task Force will review practices relating to ethics, conflicts of interest, contracting and procurement, political contributions, and permitted political activities by Metro employees, vendors and members of boards and commissions.
The task force will also examine if an independent Inspector General is needed to work with the city and Office of Internal Audit to identify and prevent potential fraud and waste in the government.
Recommendations will be made in 90 days according to a news release from Cooper's office. The task force will comprise of 8 members.
