A woman has been charged in the death of a young boy after police say she struck him with a vehicle at Overlook Ridge Apartments Sunday night.

Chrishon Montgomery, 9, died at the hospital after being struck. Another child, Cayden Doctor, 7, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Ebony Robinson, 28, who lives at the apartment complex, was charged with for vehicular homicide due to intoxication, aggravated assault, resisting arrest, and driving without a license or proof of insurance in the incident.

Police said Robinson backed up at an unusually high speed and struck Chrishon, who was on a bike, and Cayden, who was walking.

When asked if she had been drinking, Robinson reportedly yelled to police, "yeah, I had few." Police believe a Styrofoam cup in the vehicle contained tequila.

Robinson's bond is set at $203,000.

Two young children were struck by a vehicle at a Bordeaux apartment complex Sunday night and one child has died from his injuries.

Metro Police said two children, between the ages of 6 and 10 years old, were struck in the parking lot of Overlook Ridge Apartments at 2400 block of Buena Vista Pike.

One child was transported by emergency crews to the hospital but has since succumbed to his wounds. Another child was taken to the hospital by a family member and has non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle is being detained and the incident is under investigation.
