NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- An ATV and dirt bike rider are arrested after riding around Nashville today illegally.

Metro Nashville police were monitoring the ATV and dirt bike by air and on the ground Sunday afternoon. They attempted to stop them twice before pulling them over on Oakview Road in northeast Nashville.

Police say the ATV and dirt bike are not street legal. The ATV was unregistered and the dirt bike did not have a license plate. The ATV was also reportedly doing wheelies, according to the affidavit.

Arrested are 28-year-old Karon Benjamin and 22-year-old Ticaric Williams. Both are charged with two counts of felony evading arrest.

On March 16, dozens of ATV and dirt bike riders illegally and without warning took over Broadway. An officer was injured after being dragged by an ATV driver who collided with the officer and dragged him into a steel bike rack.

Since then, police developed a plan to take part in curtailing illegal ATV/dirt bike incidents.
