Emergency responders in Rutherford County rescued a man trapped in a 30-foot ravine on Monday.

A Christiana man was trapped near Rockvale, according to the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office. He was rescued by a team of Rutherford County deputies, firefighters and paramedics off Mount Pleasant Road, a sheriff's sergeant confirmed.

An individual at Champions Run Golf Course heard the man's pleas for help and found him, Sgt. Bryant Gregory said via the RCSO. He directed Deputy Barry Singleton to the location.

“He was in a 30-foot ravine in a heavily wooded area,” Gregory said.

Deputies guided Rutherford County Fire & Rescue firefighters, Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services paramedics and the Emergency Management Agency Special Operations Response Team to the man's location.

“They were able to successfully rescue the male,” Gregory said.

The man was transported by paramedicss to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital for treatment.
