LINCOLN, Neb. (FOX42KPTM) - The Nebraska State Patrol has a new warning for everyone who uses technology to do business.

In a recent tweet, the Technical Crimes Division says there's a scam making its rounds. Someone sent in a picture showing what appears to be something coming from USAA about unusual activity detected. The division says it is not legitimate based on the number of grammar errors and the fact the person who got the message doesn't even have an account with USAA.

If you're not sure if something is legitimate, you're urged to reach out to a company directly as opposed to simply clicking on a link. Technology experts say it's always better to be safe than sorry.
