MADISON, Wis. - It's the fifth year for a Fourth of July tradition here in Madison: Shake the Lake returns June 29.

Wisconsin's largest fireworks display is a joint effort by the Madison Mallards and Festival Foods, featuring live music, food, and family activities on John Nolen Drive between Broom Street and Blair Street.

The event will start at 5:00 p.m. again this year, and it will feature two stages of national music acts, on each side of the Monona Terrace.

The night ends with the grand spectacle, fireworks starting at 10 p.m. Reeseville, Wisconsin-based Spectrum Pyrotechnics, will conduct the fireworks show. The company is one of just a few manufacturers of display fireworks left in the United States.

Fireworks will be fired from multiple barges on Lake Monona, and the show will be choreographed to music with fireworks and effects selected to match the soundtrack.

The show can be watched for free from John Nolen Drive.

If you have reserved tickets, which cost $20 as of June 1, you can watch the fireworks from the Monona Terrace rooftop.
