BALTIMORE (WBFF)--The Maryland State Superintendent Karen Salmon announced that all Maryland School Districts are offering free meals for students during the two-week school closure due to Coronavirus.
The state has applied for federal assistance to help ensure students are still fed. Governor Hogan said the state will provide three meals a day and a snack to students who need it during the closure.
Salmon announced the Maryland Department of Education applied for a federal waiver to ensure students impacted by the school closure can rely on the state for those free meals.
The state has 138 meal distribution centers across Maryland.
