BALTIMORE (WBFF) - A 78-year-old man was beat up and carjacked Sunday afternoon outside his home in north Baltimore's Guilford neighborhood.

The attack happened at 12:13 p.m. Sunday on Juniper Road near Chancery Road in the Oakenshawe/Guilford area, according to a city police report.

The victim said he was sitting in his vehicle in front of his home, when three teens approached the driver's side, opened the door, punched him in the face and pulled him out of the car as other suspects entered the vehicle, according to charging documents.

The suspect who was driving "ripped off the excess keys, dropped them to the ground, then entered the driver seat and fled northbound with the other suspects," according to the report.

The keys were later found. The victim "sustained a black left eye... and an addition laceration down the left side of his face after being pulled from the car and thrown to the asphalt," according to the report.

The victim was in stable condition after being taken to a hospital.

There was no reported security camera footage in the area.

The suspects are described only as three black males, between 15 and 19 years old.
