BALTIMORE (WBFF) - Twelve people have been shot throughout Baltimore Thursday, four of them fatally.
Five of the victims were shot - one fatally - in a single location, at about 6:15 p.m. at Pennsylvania Avenue near Bloom Street in west Baltimore's Druid Heights area.
Two officers were on patrol in the area of Pennsylvania and Bloom when they heard gunshots, said Baltimore police spokesperson Jeremy Silbert.
Police found two shooting victims at that location. They found a third victim at Pennsylvania and School Street, and a fourth on Pennsylvania near Laurens Street, by the Upton metro subway station.
All four were taken to area hospitals and one, a 26-year-old man died, said Silbert.
A bit later, a fifth victim was found in the intersection of North Avenue and Monroe Street.
All five victims are men, he said. The other four victims are expected to survive.
The other four victims are: a 35-year old man with a gunshot wound to his back, a 19-year old man with a gunshot wound to his hand, a 25-year old man with a gunshot wound to his lower back, and a 46-year old man with a gunshot wound to his buttocks.
A fourth homicide victim was reported in the northeast, at 7:38 p.m. The 39-year-old victim was shot on Tramore Avenue at Louise Avenue, police said.
A 42-year-old man was shot in the back in Highlandtown at 8:56 p.m. Police were called to East Lombard Street at South Conkling. He was taken to an area hospital.
Early Friday morning, two more people were shot in the city, one fatally. The total number of people shot in 24 hours is 14.
