BALTIMORE (WBFF) - Recent crimes in Baltimore County and Howard County include a huge car break-in spree in Columbia.

A suspect or suspects broke into about 40 vehicles overnight between Dec. 8 and 9, reported Howard County police.

The suspects stole items from the vehicles, some of which were unlocked. Suspects also broke windows to get into locked vehicles.

The vehicles were on Carlinda Avenue, Rawhide Ridge, Copperwood Way, Eden Brook Drive, Star Hill Court, Willow Brook Way, Guilford Road, and Hugo

Court.

Recent crimes reported in Baltimore County include:

- OWINGS MILLS: A Dec. 6 robbery on Reisterstown Road near Garrison View Road. At 3:40 p.m., someone followed the victim and forcefully took the phone from their hand. The suspect was arrested.

-TOWSON AREA: A Dec. 7 robbery on Heathfield Road and Regester Avenue. At 10:15 p.m., someone was walking when they were robbed of their belongings by three unknown suspects.

-RANDALLSTOWN: A Dec. 8 attempted first-degree assault at the cul-de-sac on Glen Michael Lane. At 2:06 a.m., someone approached the victim in the parking lot, became confrontational, took out a pocket knife and tried to attack the victim. The suspect left when the victim threatened to call 911.

-HILLENDALE: A Dec. 8 robbery on McClean Boulevard at Perring Manor Road. At 1:15 p.m., someone was robbed by two suspects; one suspect distracted her while the other took her cellphone. Both suspects fled.

-PARKVILLE: A Dec. 8 robbery on Harford Road near Park Terrace. At 5:10 a.m., two suspects threatened a victim and robbed the victim of two cell phones, a bracelet, a Ravens T-shirt and a bus pass. The suspects fled.

-DUNDALK: A Dec. 8 armed robbery on Portship Road just south of Holabird Avenue. At 5:25 a.m., the suspect approached the victim, displayed a silver handgun and demanded the victim's property. The suspect stole a purse and fled.

-ASHLAR HILL AREA: A Dec. 10 robbery on Hillsway Avenue at Dalton Road. At 12:20 a.m., two suspects approached the victim and hit him on the head with unknown object. The victim was forced to the ground and his wallet was taken. The suspects then fled.

-PERRY HALL: A Dec. 9 attempted robbery on Belair Road near Raab Avenue. At 11:56 a.m., an armed suspect tried to rob someone while the victim was withdrawing money from an ATM. When the victim screamed, the suspect fled. No items were stolen and no one was injured.
