Boise Police chased down one driver Thursday after he failed to stop for several bike patrol officers, according to BPD.

Dominic Scilipote, 52, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, possession of a controlled substance, driving recklessly, drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest.

Officials said Scilipote did not stop for Boise bike patrol officers after he was seen driving recklessly. The officers made eye contact with Scilipote and signaled to pull him over. BPD said he indicated he was not going to pull over and drove away recklessly.

At one point Scilipote sped down an alleyway nearly hitting a pedestrian with a walker, according to BPD. The pedestrian later told officers that he feared for his life. Police eventually were able to stop the driver near 27th Street and Fairview Avenue. The driver continued to defy officer commands.

"At that time additional officers were called to the scene and traffic was shut down for about 20 minutes while officers secured the scene," BPD said.

Several officers were seen with guns drawn. Photos and video of the incident were sent to CBS2 by a viewer.
