A Boise driver and his passenger were arrested Sunday night after leading police on a car and foot chase.

At about 1 a.m. near Franklin and Curtis Roads, an Idaho State Police trooper saw a driver make a wide turn and swerve inside the traffic lane.

When the trooper tried to pull him over, the driver turned into an apartment complex and sped up. ISP continued the chase down Franklin Road.

A Boise Police officer used spike strips to stop the driver near Franklin and Five Mile Road. Police say the driver went toward the officer, forcing the officer to jump out of the way to avoid being hit.

The driver and a passenger jumped out of the car and ran after hitting the spike strips. The passenger was caught immediately.

A Boise Police K9 found the driver in a nearby utility parking lot where, "he appeared passed out in a pickup truck," according to ISP.
