In a study put out by Insurify on cities with the "worst drivers" in the United States, Boise ranked No. 6 on the list.

The insights company Insurify used a database of over 1.6 million car insurance applications to determine which cities were home to the worst drivers.

They compared the number of drivers with an incident in the past seven years to the total number of drivers in those cities.

The population of each city was determined by the 2018 U.S. Census.

Cities with the highest portion of motorists with a prior incident made the top 20 list for cities with the worst drivers.

Only five cities have worse drivers than Boise, Idaho.

No. 5 is Madison, Wisconsin with a 30.99 percentage of drivers having a prior incident. Driving-related fatalities per 100,00 people (state-wide) is 10.6.

No. 4 is Canton, Ohio with a 31.27 percentage of drivers having a prior incident. Driving-related fatalities per 100,00 people (state-wide) is 10.1.

No. 3 is Hampton, Virginia with a 32.61 percentage of drivers having a prior incident. Driving-related fatalities per 100,00 people (state-wide) is 9.9.

No. 2 is Greer, South Carolina with a 33.74 percentage of drivers having a prior incident. Driving-related fatalities per 100,00 people (state-wide) is 19.7.

No. 1 is Loveland, Colorado with a 34.43 percentage of drivers having a prior incident. Driving-related fatalities per 100,00 people (state-wide) is 11.6.

Boise's percentage of drivers with a prior incident is 30.89 percent, with a population of 258,054.

Idaho's driving-related fatalities per 100,000 people is 14.2.
