A Boise teen was recognized Monday for making the 30 under 30 in environmental education.

The North American Association for Environmental Education selected Pangaea Finn, 14, to join its fourth class of EE 30 under 30.

Finn raises support for critically endangered species by educating the public about making sustainable consumer choices.

Her nonprofit organization, The Orangutan Gang, raises awareness for orangutans and the rainforest.

She discourages palm oil use in large companies and zoos by hosting public events, contacting institutions, and sharing information online at orangutangang.org.

“Recognition from the NAAEE is not only a great honor - it will also allow me to continue my conservation work,” Pangaea said.

EE 30 Under 30 was created in 2016 to recognize exemplary young professionals who are harnessing the power of education to create a more sustainable future.

“We are honored to recognize and empower the next generation of environmental game-changers from around the world,” said Judy Braus, executive director of NAAEE.
