Idaho Fish and Game has a message to folks who illegally dump their trash:

Please stop.

Fish and Game says it's seen an increase in illegal dumping in the past 10 months. Construction supplies, pallets, furniture, animal remains, nails, asphalt, tires and more have all been found at various Fish and Game properties in the southwest and Magic Valley regions.

“Every region deals with it to some degree, but we see it the most in the Southwest Region,” said John Cassinelli, regional fisheries manager. “Most of our problems are on the Snake River access sites, and we’ve had some repeat offenders.”

The state agency says it would rather use the cleanup funds on improving site access for hunters and anglers. In some instances, Fish and Game has placed large boulders to block vehicle access.

"Those actions aren’t just disrespectful — they are illegal," Fish and Game said.

If caught, you face up to six months in prison and a fine up to $1,000 as well as 40 hours of litter cleanup.
