Those scratch tickets have sure added up for Idaho schools.

On Wednesday, the Idaho Lottery announced it has given Idaho schools just over $55 million for this year's lottery dividend. Much of the funds ($35 million) will go to school repairs such as electrical and boiler upgrades and fire safety equipment.

"Idaho’s public schools and the state’s Permanent Building Fund are the real winners of the Idaho Lottery," said Idaho Gov. Brad Little. "After 31 years, the Idaho Lottery has provided nearly $1 billion to enhance public education, improve college campuses, and provide safe workforce buildings.”

To date, the Idaho Lottery has given $961.5 million.
