United States Senate candidate Paulette Jordan stopped by the Idaho State Capitol Friday. She discussed several topics regarding leadership in government, voting and the current global health crisis.

"The president announced today that he is not going to be funding the US Postal Service, for a lot of folks who are paying attention to this issue, I implore that you press upon your local leadership to manage this issue very carefully and with upmost transparency," Jordan said.

Transparency is key, that was a major point that the US senate candidate expressed during her speech. She called on leadership to protect voters' rights, making sure that everyone from veterans to residents in rural communities to newly 18-year-old voters know they have a voice. That their vote will be protected.

Jordan said she wants to be that voice for the people, she wants Idahoans to know that under her leadership, everyone will have a seat at the table.

"People understand that I know how important it is to develop positive relationships, and they also know how important it is for us to work together from both sides of the aisle, be it Democrats or Republicans," Jordan said. "And because I operate from this non partisan position, being an independent that I am, I am very proud to stand here as a daughter of Idaho and a lifelong committed leader to represent all of you."

She says she looks forward to Governor Little's special session of the Idaho legislature, hoping the governor does his part for Idahoans.

"We need leadership in our state," Jordan added. "In fact, our young people are walking the streets demanding accountability, demanding leadership. And that is what we are here to stand for, and what we represent."
