All search crews have gone home Wednesday afternoon after searching for a hiker who went missing over the weekend.

Crews on scene tell CBS 2 that unless there is a dramatic change in the weather, they won't be searching.

"Rain, snow and visibility limitations made the search efforts challenging and hazardous, so we are suspending the search indefinitely until weather conditions improve and significant snowmelt occurs," said the Ada County Sheriff's Office.

Idaho Mountain Search and Rescue covered 12 miles in 8.5 hour Wednesday.

The search crew looking for the missing hiker, hiked in ski boots and had to ski parts of the search area to get through.

The Ada County Sheriff's Office says the 27-year-old Boise man told people he was going hiking by the Dry Creek trailhead on Bogus Basin Road.

Ada County Sheriff's Deputies say they found the man's car near the trailhead Monday morning.

The sheriff's office says Idaho Mountain Search and Rescue was on scene searching.

"Multiple crews of search and rescue volunteers and deputies have spent the last three days doing an intensive and far-reaching search around the Dry Creek Trail area off Bogus Basin Road and several miles of other trails nearby where he told people he was going hiking on Saturday," Said Ada County Sheriff's Office.

The Idaho Air National Guard also provided helicopters to assist in the search effort. Deputies also used drones to get an overhead look of the area.
