As the temperatures spike over the next few days, this is one adventure that sounds perfect this weekend. An adventure kayaking or paddle boarding along The Meanders of the Payette River.

It's a family adventure where you can 'meander' the twists and turns of the barely moving river.

The gentle river is perfect, even for my young children. The inlet for the river is located near North Beach on Payette Lake. It's technically the Upper North Fork of the Payette River.

The area is designated a 'non-motorized' zone and is great for kayaking, canoeing, or stand up paddleboarding.

If you don’t own one, Backwoods Adventures has canoes and kayaks to rent right on site.

Their website says that many of their guests often see wildlife along the river, everything from moose and deer, to eagles and osprey.
