Calm and clear weather this morning across the region with most areas cooler than normal. Cooler temperatures are because of the cold front that swept through the area Wednesday afternoon. Afternoon highs will remain near or slightly below normal through Friday with temperatures in the upper 80's and low 90's for the Treasure Valley.

For the weekend, another round of sizzling hot temperatures is in store for the region as a strong ridge of high pressure builds over the western states. Temperatures are expected to climb into the mid-90's on Saturday, into the triple-digits on Sunday. Daytime highs should be near record highs for this time of year across southwest Idaho early next week. Some cloud cover could mix in with sunshine as well.

Triple-digit heat will likely remain through Tuesday before we drop back down into the upper 90's. Temperatures will still be hot but slightly more tolerable by midweek. Stay tuned!
