An Oregon City man marries the love of his life with days left to live

An Oregon City couple said, “I do,” Friday, and not a moment too soon.

On Wednesday, Tim Voss found out he was dying. That very same day, he proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Laura.

They were married in the same hospital room that they will say goodbye.

While there was great sadness, there were also moments of great happiness for a couple who found true love.

“There’s no one else I’d rather have. She’s my everything,” Tim said.

While the hospital room wasn’t a chapel, it had all the wonderful things when it comes to weddings: flowers, rings and a wedding cake.

But the ceremony was bittersweet, because everyone in the room knew Tim’s days were few. Family and friends gathered in the hospital room to witness him marry the love of his life.

Tim and Laura showed the world that it’s never too late to find love.

“You’ve got to make every day special,” Tim said.

“And hold on to the things you love. Don’t let it go,” Laura said.

She said there’s no where she’d rather be than to see Tim through his end of life.
