Attempted rape suspect arrested in Northwest Portland

A 23-year-old is facing sex assault charges in what police describe as a stranger-on-stranger attack in Northwest Portland early Friday morning.

Princeton Owens was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on first-degree attempted rape. His bail is set at $20,000.

The investigation started about 12:30 a.m. when police were called out to investigate a disturbance near Northwest 19th Avenue and Kearney Street.

Officers arrived and talked with the victim; they say a witness helped lead them to the suspect.
