Deputy now dedicated to serving city of Troutdale

TROUTDALE, Ore. — The city of Troutdale will now have a deputy dedicated to working in the city.

Deputy Nick Bohrer is a Troutdale native.

He used to work for the Troutdale Police Department until it merged with the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office in 2015.

Bohrer said his new role will allow him to connect with neighborhoods, local businesses and community groups to address concerns the city is facing.

"By not being attached to a radio for calls for service, I'm able to work on my own with my supervisor, that we can come up with solutions for some of these problems," he said.

Bohrer said this position will be important when it comes to focusing on some smaller issues that impact the community and its livability.

He said the number of abandoned vehicles in the area is one problem that will be a main focus as he starts.
