Driver dies in crash on I-84 in Gresham

GRESHAM, Ore. – A driver died Monday afternoon in a crash on Interstate 84 westbound near 181st Avenue, Gresham Police said.

The two-vehicle crash was reported at about 1:15 p.m.

Initial reports state one of the vehicles, a pickup which was towing a trailer, was stopped on the shoulder of the highway when a second driver rear-ended the trailer.

The Major Crash Team has been activated to investigate the collision, closing the middle and right lane of the interstate near the 181st Avenue exit.

Drivers are asked to use caution and expect delays.
