AUMSVILLE, Ore. – A Marion County Grand Jury found an Aumsville police officer justified in using deadly force in a shooting that occurred on June 8, 2018.

According to the Marion County District Attorney’s Office, Officer Ryan Bambrick shot 27-year-old Joshua Brook Biles.

They say Bambrick stopped Biles’ vehicle for a traffic violation near the intersection of Stayton Road and Bates Road, just outside the city limits of Aumsville. During the stop, an altercation occurred and Bambrick fired his weapon.

Biles received minor injuries and fled the scene, but he was arrested a short distance away.

Biles’ injury was treated at the scene.

Bambrick was not injured, but his civilian ride-along passenger sustained a non-life-threatening injury.

The same grand jury that justified the officer’s actions also indicted Biles for third-degree assault, two counts of recklessly endangering another person, second-degree criminal mischief and attempting to elude a police officer.
