The weather shouldn't be too much of a concern for the grand re-opening of Imagination Station on Saturday.

The all-abilities playground burned down more than two and half years ago.

And Mayor Casey Ryan is looking forward to officially unveiling the new and improved Imagination Station playground.

"It’s better now. It’s going to be all-inclusive for everybody," he said. "The materials that we’re using are better now. It was wood before."

The aging wood became fuel for an arson fire back in April 2016. It was a painful loss.

"In Troutdale, we don’t have a Boys and Girls Club and a YMCA and all that, so it’s a really nice park for kids to come to," Ryan said.

Because of that, local leaders and community organizers dug in.

"So, it became a community effort, and in an age where we’re a lot more disconnected, personally, and over the internet or social media and stuff, so to have a project where people come work hand in hand was really great for us," Ryan said.

The ribbon cutting starts at 2 p.m. at 1900 S.W. Cherry Park Road, and the public is welcome.
