KEIZER, Ore. – A 62-year-old was arrested Wednesday after police say he fired several guns inside his Keizer house and tried to set the home on fire with gasoline.

The incident started at about 1:20 p.m. on April 22 when Keizer Police got a call for a domestic disturbance in the 4700 block of Verda Lane Northeast. The caller told police her husband, Robert Beck, was intoxicated and punching holes in walls.

Responding officers managed to safely evacuate the wife, but left without talking with Beck because no crime had occurred.

At about 10:45 p.m., they got a call from Beck saying he tried to set fire to his house. Officers confirmed that he was alone in the house and “had indeed poured several gallons of gasoline” out in his house while trying to burn it down.

They also found out that he’d fired several guns inside the house, and some bullets had come through walls. No one was hurt in the incident.

After shutting off power to the house and making sure nothing was going to combust, they arrested Beck and booked him into the Marion County Jail on unlawful use of a weapon and reckless endangering.

His bail is set at $15,000.
