Mt. Angel Hazelnut Festival and German Holiday Market

Mt. Angel, Ore. — Turns out Mt. Angel isn't just into Oktoberfest. The tiny town also goes big for the Holidays. The garlands are hung and the Christmas trees are lit for the Mt. Angel Hazelnut Festival and German Holiday Market. It's December 6th-8th, 2019.

You can shop for unique holiday gifts from 50 local vendors in the Festhalle and walk through the festive town without the Oktoberfest crowds. You can enjoy Oregon wineries and breweries and foods that feature hazelnuts. Santa will make an appearance and Silver Falls Brewery is releasing its new Hazelnut Brown Ale.

So why the hazelnuts? The Willamette Valley is the prime growing region for hazelnuts in the United States. So there will of course be plenty of hazelnut products to taste and buy.
