New Portland pot shop invites public to buy stake in the business

PORTLAND, Ore. – A new marijuana dispensary in Northeast Portland is generating a lot of buzz.

The owners of The People’s Dispensary on Northeast Sandy Boulevard aren’t keeping the profits solely to themselves. They’re letting the public in on the action.

Already, 100 small investors have contributed $500,000 for a stake in the business.

Rep. Earl Blumenauer attended the shop’s grand opening Friday and applauded the share the wealth approach.

The People’s Dispensary is looking for more investors.

The public can invest for as little as $1 a share.
