OHSU updates condition of four people injured in I-5 crash near Wilsonville

WILSONVILLE, Ore. – Oregon Health & Science University released an update Friday on the conditions of the four people injured in a crash on Interstate 5 near Wilsonville Thursday.

According to OHSU, 55-year-old Julie Anne Berbena, of Aumsville, is in serious condition; 72-year-old Andrew Teague Berbena, of Aumsville, was released from the hospital; 32-year-old James Roderick McKeown, of Mt. Angel, is in fair condition; and 52-year-old Darrin Allan Combs, of Salem, is in fair condition.

According to Oregon State Police, there were five vehicles and nine people involved in the crash.

Investigators say a semi-truck driver heading south on Interstate 5 crossed through the median cable barrier and into oncoming lanes early Thursday morning, hitting several vehicles and shutting down the northbound lanes of the freeway for more than five hours.
