Former Special Counsel Robert Mueller will testify Wednesday in back-to-back sessions before two congressional committees.

Democrats are expected to ask Mueller to offer a better narrative about the two-year investigation.

U.S. Rep. Greg Walden, R-Oregon, said his constituents are asking why it's necessary.

“I wish we could move on and deal with the big issues Americans really care about,” he said. “And that’s things like robocalls, it’s things like the high cost of health care, it’s about getting drug costs down. All these other things.”

U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Oregon, said Mueller's testimony may help Oregonians better understand what's in the report.

“There’s still has not been any kind of public airing, and Mr. Barr certainly ducked it, of the 10 instances where Bob Mueller found potential obstruction of justice by the president,” Wyden said. “So I think these are very important hearings.”

Mueller’s testimony is set to begin 5:30 a.m. PDT. Both sessions will be streamed lived right here on KATU.com.
