Police arrest man in connection to Southeast Portland stabbing investigation

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Police Bureau say officers arrested a man in connection to a stabbing that occurred Saturday evening.

Early Sunday morning, officers located 43-year-old Ivory Joe Watkins, Jr. in the 5500 block of Southeast 128th Avenue. He was booked in the Multnomah County Detention Center on a first-degree assault charge.

Police say the stabbing occurred in the 6400 block of Southeast 129th Avenue Saturday evening. When officers responded, they found an injured man. He was taken to a hospital in an ambulance and was treated for life-threatening injuries.

Police believe the victim and suspect know each other.
